The Petronas Twin Towers, our national pride, has succeeded in making Malaysia well known internationally. Do you know that different kinds of materials were used to build it? Each material used is Known as matter.
3.1 WHAT IS MATTER

We are very lucky to have types of things around us. Can you list some of the thingd you see in Photo 3.1? Everything that you listed is called matter. Matter has two properties. What are the two properties of matter? You will learn about them in the following activities.
3.2 THE STATES OF MATTER
Matter is found in three states. These are solid, liquid and gas. We can change the state of matter from one to another by heathing or cooling it. For example, water is usually found in the liquid state. When we cool water, it turns to ice. Ice is water in the solid state.
